Backside to the Future (BsTTF) Filming [27/02/22]

Today marked the final official day of filming for BsTTF (Backside To The Future): a faithful recreation of the 80s classic (Back to the Future), spanning over three years! We filmed eleven pages of script in just under five (very intense) hours, essentially leaving us only the edit before the film can be premiered at The Lyric.

We rented out the same vicinal hall that we used to film the audition scene for the largest and most exciting scene of the film, The Enchantment Under The Sea dance, where George and Loraine finally kiss and Marty’s family is saved.

We recruited several extras and several new actors to fill the crowd and new roles in the band, respectively.

We also filmed another scene, after the extras had returned home, which was the 50s cafeteria scene. Compared to the dance, this scene was a breeze and afforded us some hilarious moments as well.

Despite the stresses of organisation, the day was a success, with all cast and crew putting in extra effort to ensure that this was a day to remember.
